Nathan
Nathan Viquesney is a composer, pianist, vocalist, and songwriter from Phoenix, Arizona. From a young age, Nathan started his journey with piano lessons at 4 years old. Since then, he’s continued to pursue his love for music- playing cello in orchestras and musical theater pits, serving as an assistant musical director, and winning first at the Arizona Society of General Music's Student Composition Festival in 2018. He later graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Music in Music Theory and Composition. During his time there, he not only wrote for professional ensembles, met with renowned artists, but most recently in 2024, Nathan was selected through the DBR Lab at ASU to premiere his original work at the renowned National Sawdust in New York City.
Nathan believes that learning shouldn't be boring, tedious, or painful, but something to look forward to. After all, learning is done best when you want to learn! He approaches education with a student-first perspective- tailoring his approach based on the individual. Each student should get to explore the music they love, while also being provided a strong theory-based approach to learning it. No matter a student's skill level or experience, Nathan strives to make lessons a supportive and judgment-free place to learn and flourish.
Some Fun Facts about Me!
1.) I have three cats who I love very dearly- Trick, Sqoodle, and Maki!
2.) I make lots of visual art as well as musical! I mostly draw digitally or paint with acrylics.
3.) I love a ton of video games! The Legend of Zelda series is my overall favorite- especially it’s music!
4.) Besides piano and voice, I also enjoy playing harp, cello, guitar, and bass!
5.) I once did a road trip to see a handful of different national parks, including Yellowstone, Bryce Canyon, Zion, and both sides of the Grand Canyon.
6.) I play Dungeons and Dragons with my friends every week, both as a player and leading the game!
7.) I love collecting tote bags, it’s my go-to souvenir when I travel.
8.) My favorite animals are Seals!
