Private Lessons with June
June
Zhujun (June) Pan is a distinctive pianist, composer, and educator, currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) at the prestigious Peabody Conservatory of Music, Johns Hopkins University. Having started her piano training at the age of 5, June quickly became recognized for her exceptional talent, performing in numerous concerts and winning multiple piano competitions and awards throughout her childhood and teenage years. Her early experiences have taught her an important lesson: success comes from patience, persistence, and an inner drive for music, which continues to inspire her music career today.
Born in Xi'an, China, and classically trained, June has dedicated her life to mastering both piano performance and composition. Her academic journey spans some of the world’s top music institutions, including the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and Peabody Conservatory, where she has been awarded honors such as the Gustav Klem Award for excellence in composition.
While June is highly accomplished in her field, she knows that for beginners—whether they’re children, teens, or adults—learning an instrument should be fun, rewarding, and motivating. One of the things that sets June apart as a teacher is her unique ability to break down complex musical concepts into smaller, simpler steps. She excels at taking what might seem overwhelming to beginners and presenting it in a way that’s easy to understand and apply immediately. This helps students feel more confident and grasp new skills faster.
A Personalized Approach for Every Student
June understands that beginners come with different expectations and goals, whether they’re kids looking for fun, teens aiming to explore a new hobby, or adults fulfilling a lifelong dream. That’s why she tailors each lesson to meet her students where they are. From learning basic music theory and reading music to exploring new styles of music or advancing techniques, June’s lessons ensure that every student progresses at a pace that feels comfortable and inspiring.
Her students frequently share 5-star Google reviews, highlighting her ability to make learning enjoyable and rewarding. Parents praise her for the way she motivates their children, while teens and adults appreciate her patience, clear instruction, and positive energy.
As a teacher, there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing my students make progress and achieve their musical goals, whether it’s performing confidently in a recital or simply finding joy and confidence in playing the piano. I work closely with each student to create a supportive environment where they feel valued, motivated, and excited about their progress.”
